Hi! This is me, @ananyasaraf.design‘s personal art and design exhibit agenda for the month; shared here because art and organised grids (two things sitting conveniently high on my list of interests) now felt worthy of an audience.
I’m drawn to contemporary art and design, especially the ones that makes me physically move, look twice. The kind that makes my brain tingle.
This list focuses on Kolkata since I’m based here, with occasional exhibits from other cities I plan to visit (and as my chronically online self digs deeper.) Do reach out if I miss anything :)

| (at Alipore Museum) | Rathin Barman | I would not have thought that the choice of an erstwhile prison as a venue for an exhibition about ‘home’ and ‘liberation’ could add so much depth to it. As for the work, the varied interpretations of home in food or architecture really made me think about how different categories of society differently remember and understand home. | ||

| 2 April – 6 June | We Need to Talk in Whispers | Experimenter Ballygunge Place | Soumya Sankar Bose | Without much context about the show, I walked into large scale and high contrast photographs — beautiful looking and at the same time disturbingly confusing. It made me want to know more but also made me feel like I should not. But as I saw and read more, the discomfort somewhat subsided and I became surprisingly curious in understanding the life (and the end of it) of strangers. |
